After our dog, Kara injured her leg, and suffered with a Pyrometra (an almost fatal infection) all in 2020 at the age of 1, I found myself, In need of some training treats during her rehabilitation.

I couldn’t find anything to buy that wasn’t full of salt, sugar, preservatives and additives. I found myself in a state of frustration, I wanted to treat Kara but I wanted to do so in a healthy way.

I decided to bake my own pet treats with very few ingredients, just humble rolled oats and simple healthy vegetables…. The challenge was to make them delicious so that Kara would keep wanting more.

A few recipes later it’s safe to say that Kara loved the treats, and after a while, even although she was back to full health, she still could not get enough of my homemade pet bakes. I kept inventing new recipes and new designs for her, and soon my one taste-tester became ten taste-testers, as all the dogs in my extended family wanted more and more! 

And so here we are with lots of delicious pet bakes, one budding start up and most importantly, lots of happy pets!
